IF INFLUENCE AND INSPIRATION DO NOT CHANGE...
An essential element of evaluating history is "how it changes over time". Civilizations, societies, cultures, are all under constant change, innovation, new ideas, and the call to rely on traditions, the list can go on and on as time as time as changed. Influence and inspiration are no different. There will always be principles and values that stand the test of time as it pertains to influence and inspiration.
DESTINY AND TIME...
We are masters of our own destiny, In Ralph Waldo Emerson's words, "The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be". Is the decision always ours though? With so many opportunities coming from "who you know" and who knows you", how in the heck do we become known by the right people?
THE SPIRIT AND THE LETTER
Does the process, details, and rules that are put in place to guide an organization or project excite you? Does creativity, pressing the boundaries of what is deemed acceptable, feelings of exhilaration for the process excite you? Amongst all of the brain power exerted, the expertise tapped into, the precedents that inform us, there is a vibrant force that permeates all of it. Can the spirit of the process and the letter of the process coexist?

Why?
I have asked this question; often, over the last 13 years. Why do I uncover the behaviors, hurts, insecurities, and fears that hold me back? Is this journey of self discovery and self creation an exercise in futility? There are times when I just want to forget the call on my life to examine how fear and insecurity keep me from showing up as the dignified individual I was created to be so I can be a ‘Light in the world” as Jesus speaks of in His Sermon on the Mount.
